Halloween Treats for My Own Ghouls

Happy Halloween (almost)!

I made treats for my own little ghouls (ok, not so little - my oldest is already taller than me!). I really wanted to make a door hanger treat so that when they wake up in the morning, they would see it and be surprised. The only problem is I got them too many treats to all fit in the Art Philosophy door hanger - LOL! So, I still made the hangers, but I will also have a separate little treat bag to give them. I think I'll put the bags on their dressers as soon as I finish this post!

Here they are:

the hangers and the separate treat bags

My Sugar Daddy Ghost pops!
(Our family loves these! Got them at the Dollar Store, too!)

Supplies:
  • Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge for door hanger (used Fit To Page)
  • Cricut Mini Monsters cartridge for ghosts
  • Cricut Doodlecharms cartridge for spider
  • Cricut Paper Doll Dress Up for skeleton
  • Scrappy Moms' "A Haunting We Will Go" and "Bewitched" Stamp sets
  • DCWV black cardstock
  • Georgia-Pacific white cardstock
  • Stampin' Up Basic Black ink
  • Wiggly Eyes
  • Various Halloween ribbons from Michael's, Joann and previous years' stash
  • Baker's twine from Etsy (Orange & black) and Scrappy Moms (black & white)
  • Target dotted treat bags
  • K & Company Halloween Tim Coffey designer mat pad for patterned papers
Treat contents:
  • Bath & Body Works Halloween lotion, lip gloss & shimmer body spray
  • Pop Rocks candy
  • Sugar Daddy caramel pops

These were a lot of fun to make and I'm happy that I was able to make something special for my own girls. Often I give my girls treats throughout the Halloween season as we shop and craft for others, but not a creatively packaged treat on Halloween. Also, even though my older daughter won best costume at our Halloween Party last week as voted by her ghoulfriends, we gave the prize treat container to the runner up. I knew I had similar treats to give my ghouls on the real day and thought that was fair.

I am entering these treats with little cards into the following challenges:

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge # 83 "Spooky Time" - Use a ghost on your project!
Scrappy Moms - Use the Doodlecharms cartridge!
Cardz TV Challenge # 94 - "Spooks, Monsters, Ghouls and Goblins!" Make a card for Halloween using ANY Halloween image you'd like from any cartridge(s) and using any colors you’d like.

Have a fun and safe Halloween all!

More Halloween Treats

I'm baaaaaaack!!!

I just came off of my big Halloween bash where I had 28, yes 28 middle school "ghouls" over for some spooky fun! Now that it is behind me, though, I can catch up on my blogging and get some projects posted.

Two weekends ago I got my treat bags assembled and mailed off to the Godkids/cousins. I must say that I did not put my best creative juices forward for these, but I did get them out, right? And I'm sure my recipients aren't nearly as picky as I'm being about them. They probably viciously ripped the bags open with no regard for the crafting time put in- GASP!!

So here they are:
Doodlecharms spider, Scrappy Moms stamps

 Pumpkin Carving pumpkin, Mini Monsters
spider with web, Scrappy Moms stamps,
Martha Stewart Drippy Goo Punch

Doodlecharms spider, Pumpkin Carving Pumpkin,

I added photos to these Target $1 board books-
so fun for my toddler twin cousins!

So yeah, nothing fancy here for this year's treats. I saw so many great Halloween ideas from all of your blogs, too, but time just wasn't on my side this season. Volleyball wraps up this weekend so maybe I can hit my crafting a bit more (insert big grin here).

I do have some things to post from my party, which I will try to post ASAP. I also want to jump in a few challenges this week so hopefully I'll be back soon!

Orange you Sweet!!

Yesterday I received 2 new Scrappy Moms stamp sets in the mail! What a FABULOUS day it is when that happens!! And even more shocking, I dove right into them last night and made a thank you card for my BFF! She got me some very nice gifts for my bday last month, so a sweet card was definitely in order.

Here it is:

Supplies:
  • Cricut Doodlecharms cartridge - popsicle pieces cut at 4" (welded on my Gypsy)
  • Light orange and white cardstock from my stash
  • Scrappy Mom's "Orange You Sweet!" sentiment from their Sun Kissed stamp set
  • Scrappy Mom's "Sweet Friend" sentiment from their Simple Sentiments Stamp Set
  • VersaColor 503 Limone Pigment Ink Pad (dark and light orange colors)
  • Stampin' Up Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder
  • Scrappy Mom's Lemon Drop bakers twine
  • Craft popsicle sticks from Michael's
  • Diamond Stickles
  • Stampin' Up Scallop Circle punch (for the "chomp" out of the popsicle)
  • White Uniball Signo Pen (for doodles -Lauren at Lauren's Creative is really rubbing off on me- LOL!)
When I saw that "Orange You Sweet!" Sentiment from the Scrappy Moms' Sun Kissed stamp set, it instantly made me think of a dreamsicle! I'm so happy I got these stamp sets. They make me happy!! :)

Tomorrow is Thursday already - Yes! We're getting closer to another weekend! Gotta love shortened work weeks. Happy crafting all!

Caramel Apple Kits!

Every year my family and I visit a local apple orchard to pick yummy apples. Tasting apples right off the tree is just the best!!! Then when we get home we assemble a kit for each of my girls' teachers. Here are the kits we made this past weekend. The apple on the tag was made using the Cricut Doodlecharms cartridge. The bushel baskets were $3.00 each on sale at Michael's. We actually had to purchase popsicle sticks to include. Usually they are included in the caramels bags, but I guess that was a budget cut for the Kraft company this year. These caramel apple kits are so fun to make and give! And not to mention, it's always a good thing to get some brownie points with the teachers in the beginning of the school year! :)
